Judge Denies Motion To Dismiss in 2 Pierrepont Street lawsuit

    https://therealdeal.com/2021/03/23/lawsuit-accusing-vincent-viola-of-violating-rent-laws-can-proceed/

Residents of the building are suing the owner, Vincent Viola, for overcharging rent. The building was exempt from rent-stabilization laws when owned by Brooklyn Law School. Viola claims the renovations allowed him to increase the rent.

Coincidently, Kushner Companies face similar lawsuits for 89 Hicks Street and 18 Sidney Place

Coincidently, Viola was nominated for Secretary of the Army by President Trump but withdrew his nomination because of his business ties.

I see they also have a front desk with plexiglass in the lobby now too. Seems like an odd moment to try and open a hotel, to put it mildly, but good luck to them.

So, our long [local] nightmare is over? I’ll believe it when it actually happens.

Time to repost that postcard view of the old Bossert lobby:

Here’s a vertical photo showing Brooklyn Heights and neighboring areas in 1951. That scar in the upper left is where buildings were demolished to ram through the coming BQE. Click on both to see at full size. In reply is the same view from 1924:

Spear Physical Therapy is excellent. They are in the St George right next door to Eastern Athletic. I’ve been there for 2 different conditions. Everyone else I’ve spoken to agrees that they are the best. Good luck

  • AEB

    Thanks so much, gc.

    Thanks, Studio.

Does anyone know what happened last night on pure two in Brooklyn Bridge Park? As I walked by around 8 PM on the promenade I saw that all of the lights were off, there were manned barricades at either entrance, and a police car with its flashers on was slowly patrolling the perimeter.

Physiologic is also amazing. They brought by lower back back to life. The owner is Dr. Rudy something

Heard responder activity as far in as Henry. I’m also curious…I disabled my “Citizen” app over a year ago.

Thanks, Mr. Hicks. Now–which to choose?

Physiologic is great but pricey, and they don’t take insurance.

No worries. I’ve done that, too. Glad to hear the news about Mint Heights; my wife and I were long time Asya fans.
