On Tuesday, December 15 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. ET, Brooklyn Bridge Park will present a webinar, “Access and Justice: The Links Between Green Space and Climate Change,”
a workshop discussing the importance of access to green space and why it is an environmental justice and climate justice issue. Green spaces provide benefits to the environment, mental and physical health, and community health.
Advance registration is required; there’s more information and you can sign up here.
As the New York Times reports, from Wednesday, December 16 through Sunday, December 20 Brooklyn Bridge Park’s Pier Three will play host to a video exhibit, “Waters of a Lower Register,” by the artist Allison Janae Hamilton. On an arc of five 70 inch screens installed at the pier’s northwest corner will be projected images, along with sound, of a swampy, subtropical forest, taken near the artist’s former home in northern Florida, “to explore the human-inflicted forces of climate change.”
