Next Saturday. November 2, Theater 2020, Brooklyn Heights’ own award winning professional stage company, will present Broadway in Brooklyn, a Salute to Hal Prince, a gala fundraising concert celebrating the late, legendary Broadway producer and director Hal Prince, who served on Theater 2020’s Advisory Board and was a mentor to its co-Artistic Directors (and Heights residents), David Fuller and Judith Jarosz. It will be a concert of songs from plays produced, directed, or both, by Mr. Prince, and will feature performances by Mr. Fuller and by Josh Powell, Carolyn Bacon, Chrysten Peddie, Mary Thorne, Julia Goretsky, and Zack Krajnyak, all accompanied on piano by Brian Fitzsousa.
Doors will open at 7:00 p.m., when there will be pre-show appetizers and a bar, and the concert begins at 8:00, followed by a dessert reception with the artists. It’s all happening at The Great Room of ART New York, 138 South Oxford Street, between Atlantic Avenue and Fulton Street, and a short walk from the 2, 3, 4, 5, N, and R stops at Atlantic Terminal/Barclays Center. Tickets are $50, of which $30 is tax deductible, and may be purchased here. Advance purchase is required.
