Subway Service Alerts: Brooklyn Heights and Nearby

I’m calling this a “green light weekend” because, barring unforeseen circumstances, there will be service at all local stations from late Friday evening, October 11 to early Monday morning, October 13. Late each weekend night there will be no 3 train service in either direction, as 3 trains will be terminating and originating at Penn Station. Nevertheless, 2 service should be running normally, so there should be service in both directions at Clark Street and Jay Street-MetroTech. Indeed, there will be extra Manhattan bound service at Court Street and Jay street, as Manhattan bound N (which usually only serve Brooklyn Heights late at night) and Q trains will be diverted to the N/R line all weekend.

The following work week each night Monday, October 14 to Friday, October 18 from about 11:45 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. there will be no Manhattan bound service at York Street in DUMBO, as Manhattan bound F trains will be diverted to the A line between Jay Street-MetroTech and West 4th Street. To reach the LES stops on the F take a Manhattan bound A or F from Jay Street or High Street to West 4th, then change to a Brooklyn bound F.

These are the PLANNED service changes for the coming weekend and following work week. If you’re planning to take a train not affected by these planned changes, we urge you to first check MTA Info to see if there are any unplanned service disruptions.
