Who’s That Man with His Face on a Van?

Mrs. Fink found this van from Rice n Ribs in Augusta, GA parked on Columbia Heights on Saturday morning.   There’s a lot of layers going on here: a restaurant named after a James Brown song decorated with a picture of  the late Isaac Hayes aka Black Moses and a devout Scientologist  parked just a few feet from the world headquarters of the Watchtower Tract and Bible Society. Only in Brooklyn kiddies, only in Brooklyn.

Probably a good time to watch the Return of Chef episode of South Park, eh?

I also saw the van and took a photo, which I was going to post here, but you beat me to the punch. My shot is on S-AB here.

Actually, Isaac Hayes marketed a killer line of BBQ sauces under the brand name Memphis Magic, so the ribs connections makes sense. I still have a bottle of the Jivin’ Jerk sauce, with the great tag lines of “Guaranteed to get the joint jumpin!” and “Stuff yo’ mouth, feed your soul”. I saw the van as well cruising for a parking spot…definitely a double-take moment.
