Brooklyn Folk Festival Returns to St. Ann’s Church April 6th through 8th

The tenth annual Brooklyn Folk Festival will be at St. Ann and the Holy Trinity Church, Clinton and Montague streets, the weekend of Friday evening, April 5 through Sunday, April 8. A schedule of events is here.

This year’s lineup features some new performers, among them singer-songwriter Pokey LaFarge,

Many old favorites will also be performing. Among them are Jerron Paxton,

and, a special treat, the Birdman of Rome will return:

I was delighted to learn of a previous performer who has become recent addition to the lineup, Meredith Axelrod, who will be joined by Craig Ventresco:

The main stage performances will be supplemented by many others, including square dancing, in the Parish Hall, and workshops featuring films, readings, and instrumental or vocal instructions, in an upstairs room. On Sunday afternoon there will also be the Banjo Toss, at which your correspondent has always done miserably.

You may purchase tickets here.
