Subway Service Alerts: Brooklyn Heights and Vicinity

This long Presidents’ Day weekend will be no holiday for subway repair and maintenance crews. From 11:45 PM Friday, February 16 to 5:00 AM Tuesday, February 20, we have the usual, until some time this summer, cancellation of 2 or 3 train service in either direction (meaning no service at Clark Street or on the 2/3 platforms at Borough Hall). As usual, during the absence of 2/3 service, 4 and 5 (5 trains don’t usually serve Brooklyn on weekends) will provide alternate service to and into Brooklyn. In addition, from 9:45 PM Friday to 5:00 AM Tuesday, F trains will be diverted to the A/C line between West 4th Street and Jay Street-Metro Tech. This means no service from Manhattan to York Street in DUMBO; either use High Street and walk down the hill or go to Jay and catch a Manhattan bound F back to York. There will also be no Brooklyn bound service from the LES stations on the F: East Broadway, Delancey, Second Avenue, and Broadway-Lafayette. To get to Brooklyn from these stations, take a Manhattan bound F to West 4th and change there for a Brooklyn bound A. C, or F. Finally, from 4:30 AM Saturday to 7:00 PM Sunday, there will be no G train service in either direction between Hoyt-Schermerhorn and Church Avenue. A and F trains and shuttle buses provide optional service.

The following work week, late nights 11:45 PM to 5:00 AM, Tuesday, February 20 to Friday, (there will be no service in either direction at the 4/5 platforms at Borough Hall, as 4 trains will not be running between Brooklyn Bridge and Atlantic Avenue, and 5 trains don’t serve Brooklyn at night. 2 and N trains will provide alternative service. N trains will run on the R line late nights Wednesday and Thursday, but R trains will not be running from 11:45 PM Tuesday to 5:00 AM Wednesday, so no service at Court Street during these hours. Use the 2 as an option.

For planned service changes that may affect travel on other parts of the system, either during the weekend or the following week, and for unplanned disruptions, see MTA Info.
