Subway Service Alerts: Brooklyn Heights and Vicinity

Once again, this coming weekend — 10:45 PM today (Friday, December 1) to 5:00 AM Monday, December 4 — there will be no 2 and 3 train service (meaning no service at Clark Street or on the 2/3 platforms at Borough Hall), which will be a fact of life every weekend until sometime next summer. As usual, during the absence of 2/3 service, 4 and 5 (5 trains don’t usually serve Brooklyn on weekends) will provide alternate service to and into Brooklyn. Also, from 9:30 p.m. Friday to 5:00 a.m. Monday, there will be no G train service between Bedford-Nostrand Avenue and Church Avenue with shuttle buses providing alternative service between Bedford-Nostrand and Hoyt-Schermerhorn, and F trains providing alternate service between Jay Street-Metro Tech and Church Avenue. From 10:00 p.m. Friday to 5:00 a.m. Monday we get a boost in service in both directions at Court Street and at Jay Street-Metro Tech, as N and Q trains will run local on the R line between DeKalb Avenue and Canal Street. However, the N will replace the R on this route late at night.

The following work week (Monday, December 4 to Friday, December 8) there are no planned cancellations, route diversions, or station skips directly affecting service at any local stations. During rush hours (6:30 to 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 to 8:00 p.m.) each day, 2 and 3 trains will operate at reduced speed in the tunnel between Clark Street and Wall Street, so allow for additional travel time.

For planned service changes that may affect travel on other parts of the system, either during the weekend or the following week, and for unplanned disruptions, see MTA Info.
