Subway Service Alerts: Brooklyn Heights and Vicinity

It’s another wacky weekend. From 11:45 PM Friday, July 7 until 5:00 AM Monday, July 10 there will be no service in either direction at Clark Street, the 2/3 platforms at Borough Hall, or High Street. 2 and 3 trains aren’t running to or from Brooklyn this weekend, as will be the rule all weekends until sometime in 2018. A and C trains are being re-routed in both directions to the F line between West 4th Street and Jay Street-Metro Tech. 4 and 5 trains should be running as normal (although “as normal” has taken on a new meaning on the subways of late), as should F, R, and (late night) N trains. For those traveling into Brooklyn, 4 and 5 trains (5 trains are running to and from Brooklyn on weekends for the duration of the 2/3 tunnel work) will be making all 2/3 stops in Brooklyn.

The following work week (Monday, July 3 to Friday, July 7, including the Fourth of July holiday on Tuesday) there are no planned cancellations, route diversions, or station skips directly affecting service at any local stations.

For planned service changes that may affect travel on other parts of the system, either during the weekend or the following week, see MTA Info or The Weekender.

Is anyone noticing fewer tourists because of the closures?

Definitely. Good for peace and quiet. Less good for local restaurants, which need the business and which I want to be successful.
