On Friday evening, January 15, starting at 8:00, Bargemusic will present an evening of American song, with soprano Jamie Jordan (photo: Berio’s Circles by Glenn Cornett) and pianist/composer Bobby Mitchell, doing songs by Mr. Mitchell and by Frederic Rzewski, Michael Finnissy, Stephen Sondheim, and George Gershwin. On Saturday evening, January 16 at 8:00 and on Sunday afternoon, January 17 at 4:00 there will be a concert of works by Beethoven performed by Mark Peskanov on violin, Nicholas Canellakis on cello, and Jeffrey Swann on piano. Saturday afternoon at 4:00 there will be a free, family oriented “Music in Motion” concert, co-sponsored by the Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy. Doors open at 3:45; first come, first seated. The Heights Players continue their production of Joseph Kesselring’s Arsenic and Old Lace, described as “the world’s first horror comedy”. featuring BHB contributor Marc “Weegee” Hermann in the role of Officer O’Hara.
