They just won’t be as close (or as earsplitting) as we’ve had for some years. At midnight, a fireworks display will be launched from a barge near Liberty Island. These will be easily visible (and heard) from the Promenade, Brooklyn Bridge Park, and strategically placed Brooklyn Heights rooftops. This should draw some spectators from afar, but probably not as many as in previous years; more should be swarming to Battery Park City. There will also, as usual, be fireworks from a spot near Prospect Park.
