The Poplar Street Community Garden, located at Hicks and Poplar streets, is having its annual Spring Workday this Saturday, May 16, from noon to 3:00 p.m. Come
to get hands-on with the Garden and learn and share with each other. As you may wish, we’ll plant and transplant, tend to the roses and other shrubs, screen compost, etc.
If you’re one of those who says, “Work fascinates me; I can sit and watch it for hours,” you’re also welcome:
Take your pick of three wonderful new sitting places: a unique and charming hand-built wooden bench given to the Garden by Parveneh Mireille, who lives up the street, and two heavy old cast-iron park benches beautifully restored by Member-Gardener Oswaldo Deviez.
If you’d like to become a member, there are now two options. You can be a Member-Gardener or a Participating Member. Get details on Saturday, or email poplargarden@gmail.com
