The Brooklyn Heights Association will have another of its “BHA Social!” events at St. Ann & the Holy Trinity Church this Friday evening, April 17 starting at 7:30 p.m. This is in conjunction with the start of the Brooklyn Folk Festival. The BHA event is free, with beer and wine available for purchase. Tickets for the festival, which includes concerts along with workshops and events, can be purchased here. On Friday evening at 8:00 Bargemusic will present pianists Soyeon Kate Lee and Ran Dank playing works by Beethoven and Mendelssohn. On Saturday evening at 8:00 and again on Sunday afternoon at 4:00 violinist Mark Peskanov, cellist Robert deMaine, and Mr. Dank on Piano will perform works by Handel-Halvorsen, Shostakovich, and Schubert. There’s more information and buy tickets here. Saturday afternoon at 4:00 there will be a free, family oriented “Music in Motion” concert, co-sponsored by the Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy. Doors open at 3:45; first come, first seated.
The Heights Players continue their production of Christopher Durang’s Beyond Therapy, which will be showing Friday and Saturday evenings, April 17 and 18, starting at 8:00, and Sunday, April 19 starting at 2:00. The play’s run will continue on the same schedule through the following weekend. More information here.
