Onslaught of filming in the neighborhood this week…especially/including Sunday/Monday, when it feels like half the neighborhood will be taken over.

  • marshasrimler

this is all part of overdevelopment and overuse of our precious space and it must end

  • gatornyc

Overuse, maybe. Overdevelopment, nonsense. How in the world does filming in the neighborhood have anything to do with overdevelopment?

  • marshasrimler

our neighborhood is prime real estate for movie making and more and more condos and less and less city services- like hospitals, libraries, schools. It makes one wonder why we pay taxes

  • Remsen Street Dweller

You said it, Marsha. I couldn’t agree more.

  • marshasrimler

    thank you

This afternoon I saw three workmen with an acetylene torch turning the fence behind 128 Montague Street—the rat-infested “garden” next to the Chinese restaurant—into a gate, so that they can park an SUV there. There is no curb cut. Yes, I reported this to the BHA.

Hey, we don’t need no stinkin’ Landmarking rules here!

    Re: the “stabbing” on Montague..
    I understand from witnesses that
at the same moment the TD bank
    Was being robbed….

  • Cindy Sm

    Re: the Montague stabbing; remember
The mob who “visited” the food place
    On Clinton for Montague? Remember
The group who felt safe to walk up
And stab a resident to DEATH at 101
Clark and simply walk away? When
All of these incidents happened what
    Did the “Respected/revered” leadership
of The Heights do? They clucked…
    And you call yourself men!….

  • Jazz

101 Clark was a shooting. For a new commenter you’ve lost all credibility in less than 24 hours.

  • Cindy Sm

When I came on the scene from work
I was told by police it was a stabbing
But yes, in later days I WAS told it
was a shooting. But Jazz, speak to
The basic issue a) a lot of violence
Is being perpetrated (and not by res-
Idents of 50th st and Park Ave)and
Felt safe to just stroll away and
    b) after a large number of very
    serious violent incidents the
    heights “leadership” only
    Managed to cluck….some
    Deterrence to bad guys! Speak
    To those serious points…

  • gatornyc

Agreed. I’ve already stopped reading Cindy’s posts. They are alternatively unintelligible, off point, of questionable propriety, etc.

  • Jazz

You present like a tin foil hat wearing wackjob. Are you sure you’re not a citizen defending libraries and cats?

  • grrr

Homer, in the spirit of balancing free speech with keeping this blog readable, would you consider limiting Marsha S Rimsler to 10 comments a day? These comments threads are becoming tedious to the point of unreadability.

  • BrooklynCoffeeLover

    I couldn’t agree more

  • Cindy Sm

See, no one can or will speak to
    The actual concepts and issues
    Raised…the only thing the lap
    Dogs can yap their personal
    Attacks…very typical

  • miriamcb

I think it’s actually hard for us to follow what you’re saying and what you’re asking. As others have said, because you seem to type before getting facts straight, have already lost some credibility.

  • Andrew Porter

The conversion of 89 Hicks Street from a Brooklyn Law School (and former Witness) dorm into apartments is mostly done, as attested to by a free-standing sign in front of the building, advertising studio and “one-and-a-half” apartments and an arrow pointing into the building. I presume there is an on-site rental office.
