The United States Postal Service thanks all of you for not using a certain colloquialism associated with workplace violence.

  • DoBro84

Wisecrack in very poor taste. There’s nothing funny about this incident.

  • GHB

So, he was brought to a hospital in Sunset Park? Or is Lutheran in Bay Ridge? Too bad there’s nothing closer. I hope he’s OK!

  • Amanda

The email we got at 3:30pm from my daughter’s school called it a “fatal stabbing.”

Going Fedexel just doesn’t have the same ring

  • Dora Glasberg

So does that mean we CAN”T
replace “Ain’t that a kick in the head.” with
“Ain’t that a knife in the neck?”

I stopped and asked the police officers what happened when I passed. They were happy to make it sound like they were the ones who led the chase of the suspect and apprehended the suspect. Doesn’t seem to be the case.

  • brooklynheightsblog

This is unconfirmed. We have no official statement or report claiming that.

  • Heights Observer

According to WPIX TV’s website, he was brought to Lutheran Medical Center and is listed in stable condition.

    Damn…I love EMS!!!!

That is the new building that is being built over the sidewalk projecting past the adjacent buildings. There is something not right there. It seems unusually criminally conceived and executed.

Oh please, enough of the cop-bashing. They also saved yet another suicidal person (a teenage girl) from the bridge last week. They would save you in a minute if you were in danger.

  • miriamcb

Just to be clear – I haven’t been cop bashing on this blog. And in this instance, I was concerned specifically with what the 84th was doing and saying they were doing – not with NYPD in general.

I passed NYPD on the bridge today while out for a walk and chatted with all 4 of them stationed on either end of the bridge. They were perfectly nice and obviously paying attention.

Joseph Washington is indeed heroic. I don’t know him but I thank him. It takes real courage to do what he did.

In a blog post made up almost entirely of other media communication, a comment on how media reports seems responsive to me. These may be novel ideas to you, but I am capable of feeling sympathy without expressing it and also of feeling sympathy and experiencing other reactions at the same time.
