Atlantic Antic; DUMBO Arts Festival Next Weekend

Big things will be happening to the north and south of Brooklyn Heights next weekend. To our south, on Atlantic Avenue, the Atlantic Antic, Brooklyn’s largest street fair, will have its fortieth anniversary on Sunday, September 28. The Antic features food and crafts vendors, live music from various traditions, and treats for kids such as face painting and pony rides. There’s more information here.

To our north, the DUMBO Arts Festival runs from Friday, September 26 through Sunday, September 28. It will feature spectacular video projections inside the tunnel beneath the Manhattan Bridge, art events created specially for the Festival, exhibitions in DUMBO’s many galleries, and artists’ open studios. For more information, see the Festival’s website.

What? No mention of the 21st annual bus festival? Boerum Place between State Street and Atlantic Avenue in Downtown Brooklyn, free and open to the public all day long! And admission to the Transit Museum is just a buck a head all day long too. A great opportunity when you want a break from the crowds at the Antic.
