The Poplar Street Community Garden (photo), located at the northwest corner of Hicks and Poplar streets, needs helpers this Saturday, September 13, from noon to 3:00 p.m.
The Garden’s herbaceous perennials make a show that changes delightfully through the seasons. Many are also food and habitat for bees, butterflies, or birds – and/or food and medicine for people.
As we begin to prepare the Garden for next year, we’ll plant and transplant, getting to know the plants as we get hands-on with them. Our experienced lead gardener, Cindy Goulder, will guide.
You may bring your own gardening tools, or borrow ones supplied by the Garden.
