Today (5/3) is MCA Day, organized by fans of the late Adam Yauch a member of the legendary Beastie Boys and a Brooklyn Heights native.
Fans will gather at Littlefield NYC today beginning at 11 AM:
MCA Day Returns to Brooklyn! On May 3rd, 2014, fans of Adam Yauch are invited to pay tribute to his legacy and celebrate his life. Grab your favorite Beastie shirt, lace up the shelltoes, head to Littlefield and get ready to spread some Gratitude.
Humanitarian, artist, rapper, musician, Sasquatch, filmmaker, activist, snowboarder and Hörnblowér. Adam Yauch was one of the best this crazy world has ever seen. Let’s get together and honor a life well-lived through his favorite channels: art, music and community. On Saturday May 3rd, we invite all whose lives were touched by MCA to join us.
HELLOOOOOOO BROOKLYYYYNNNN!!! The festivities will kick off at 11am at Littlefield Performance and Art Space. There will be music to vibe to, art to view, good folks to chill with, and of course some fresh new surprises to bring you joy. Plus, we’ll have that original big ol’ Boombox and a fresh grip of batteries.
There is no cost to attend – celebrating Yauch is free. Of course we’ll have some info on how you can lend a hand to some folks that really need it. All ages are welcome, so just get your ass down there. Come by car, train, bus, boat, hoverboard or pop a wheelie on your unicycle… Show up, get down, shout it out and take it in. “BBoys & BGirls of the WORLD….. UNITE!”
Let’s keep it going full steam and light it up once again… For MCA.
