John Manbeck Publishes Second Crime Novella Set In Brooklyn Heights

Former Brooklyn borough historian John B. Manbeck has published his second crime novella set in Brooklyn Heights. “The Disappearance of Patricia Murphey” is available on Amazon.com for Kindle. The plot as described there:

In a local restaurant that just opened in 1930, an attractive Brooklyn College student disappears after a family argument. Fears of abduction and white slavery bring in Lt. Jared Lewis of the Brooklyn Heights precinct and an insurance investigator. Police search the streets and the dangerous waterfront without success. How was her handsome Spanish tutor involved? And can her two professors help solve the case and prevent a murder?

This is Manbeck’s follow up to “Death on the Rise: An Historic Crime Novella”, also set in Brooklyn Heights.

The Brooklyn Eagle reports a third novella, “Skeleton in the Attic,” will be out this summer.
