Subway Service Alerts: Brooklyn Heights and Vicinity

This coming weekend (Friday evening, January 31 to Monday morning, February 3) there are no planned cancellations, route diversions, or station skips that will directly affect service at any local stations.

The following week, from 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Monday to Friday, there will be no A or C train service in either direction between Jay Street-MetroTech and Broadway Junction. Shuttle buses will provide alternative service between these stations; local buses will serve all stations along the route and express buses will run between Jay Street and Broadway Junction stopping only at Hoyt-Schermerhorn, Nostrand Avenue, and Utica Avenue. There will be no 3 train service in either direction between 11:45 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Monday to Friday, but 2 trains will be running normally, so there will be service in both directions at Clark Street and on the 2/3 platform at Borough Hall.

For planned service changes that may affect travel on other parts of the system, see MTA Info or The Weekender.

Did anyone hear that one of the elevators at the 2/3 Clark St stop got stuck and everyone had to be rescued by firefighters? Crazy.

I can’t swear by this, but I remember years ago either reading or being told that those elevators were built to carry flight crews from the ready room to the hangar deck of an aircraft carrier.

Yes I have heard that too.
