The SUNY trustees hearing yesterday afternoon was surreal event featuring dull Powerpoint presentations from bureaucrats and circular conversations about the state’s rules for procurement. Worst of all anyone watching (in person or on the web) had that sinking feeling that LICH was about to become a developer’s playground — a 90 square foot “medical mall” surrounded by condos. Then the craziest thing happened, SUNY board chairman Carl McCall withdrew the plan.
