This is fantastic news. This along with the merger of Downtown Hospital with Columbia Presbyterian is making me feel a lot more comfortable with my medical options here in the North Heights.

We use the pediatricians there, Stephen Turner and Meredith Mesinger. The office is beautiful, brand new and spacious. Everything is under one roof. If you need blood taken, it’s right there on the same floor, and they are open on Saturday! The administrative and nursing staff is amazing. I don’t know where they get or train these individuals, but they are like no medical staff I have ever experienced in 20 years in NYC. They are super polite and most importantly, responsive. Timely calls back from doctors, help getting medical records sent from LICH (they were impossible), and just very professional. Check it out folks. You will be so pleased. I am seeing an internist there too now.

    Urgent care? Yes.

But note the hours. Closes shop at 9:00 PM weekdays and 5:00 PM on the weekends. This is not a replacement for LICH’s ER, unfortunately.

  • HenryLoL

We dont need a replacement. And the ER at LICH was horrible anyway.
Show your special interest badge, why dont you?

When it comes to healthcare and hospitals, LOL, you know a lot about CrumbNuts and bakeries.

  • A Neighbor

    No badge. Sorry to disappoint.
I became impressed with the need for a nearby ER by reading — literally, every minute your brain is deprived of blood flow, as by a stroke, there is irreversible injury.

LOL – You sound like a phool. What badge? We don’t need no stinking badges! We ain’t got no badges.

  • Remsen Street Dweller

Huh — who could have possibly given this post a down vote? Please explain yourself.

  • Remsen Street Dweller

So maybe it will make it okay when they shut LICH.

I did NOT write this. Someone is either using my name or has gotten into my account!

It had me scratching my head and wondering if you had decided to take up irony.

  • Remsen Street Dweller

I see your point since I’ve taken up every other way to respond to some of the comments.

see their description above: “..an urgent care facility for treatment of non-emergency medical conditions”. Urgent care centers cannot replace emergency rooms. apples vs oranges. they don’t handle emergencies. BTW, LICH has a urgent care center too – same entrance as its emergency room

not just here. he’s posting all over the internet – figured someone hacked your account because suddenly “your” posts have taken the opposite position from your usual & have become rather vapid

  • Remsen Street Dweller

Thanks for the heads up. I haven’t come across any of these other posts yet.

BP & a few others. So much written about LICH lately all over the place I don’t remember where Ive seen it but surely more than once. Seems “BJ” has either changed his tune or has gotten his moniker stolen as well.

I now know what’s been going on. Best protection is to use an avatar. Also, if you can’t click on the name to see the writer’s Disqus history, the writer is a GUEST and Guests can use anyone’s name. If you look at all the crazy SUNY supporters that have been coming out of the wood work lately, they all sign on as GUESTS, e.g. Mike Obermuller and his ilk. Now they are pretending to be SUNY supporters.

  • Remsen Street Dweller

    what’s going on with Disqus?

What do you mean ALL the crazies coming out of the woodwork? It’s just one guy – just the same person writing the same rants all under different names & sometimes even responding to himself. lol.

Want to find a LICH MD?

I went and the place is great. I liked my old place but change is hard. Once there I would not go back.
