Historic Aircraft Flyover Tomorrow

Update: Your correspondent waited, and waited, and no planes. We’ll let you know if this event has been rescheduled.

This in from Notify NYC:

The Air Power Museum in Farmingdale, NY, will conduct a commemorative honor flight (weather permitting) over the Statue of Liberty (Hudson River) tomorrow, on Sunday, September 1st at 1:00pm. The honor flight will consist of six (6) historic aircraft–three (3) B-25’s [photo], one (1) P40, one (1) P47, and one (1) P51…circling over the Statue of Liberty twice. Two (2) T6 aircraft…will accompany the group to photograph the activity. The aircraft will depart from/return to Republic Airport in Farmingdale, NY. You may see low flying aircraft in the area.

The route between Farmingdale and the Statue of Liberty may bring these World War II vintage aircraft over or close to Brooklyn Heights. In any event, the Statue of Liberty flyover should be visible from the Promenade.

Yes, please let us know if there is a re-scheduling. There was nothing under “Events” on their web site.
