What’s on your mind? Comment away!

Update: Karl Junkersfeld really wanted to see this week’s main conversation turned into an animation. So here it is (with apologies to all involved!):

What a boring Open Thread this week – so many complaints about being asked whether or not you want a bag for your groceries? Plus, have you not heard about the proposal to charge 10 cents a dance, I mean 10 cents a bag.

Where is Mike the ice cream guy? His truck isn’t in front of Pierrepont playground.

  • Marathoner

no idea, but we’re enjoying the clean air while it lasts! I hope he’s getting a new generator installed – the 1960’s model spews some noxious fumes over that playground

It equals to about $50 per year extra….those quarters add up.

When I’m asked “paper or plastic” I simply say, both. That way I’m ensuring i’m getting the most out of the deal. After all, isn’t that what being an American is all about.

Philo T. Worthfarns, aren’t you the inventor of VT?

(Ah, the Green Mountain State. They must have named Mt. Philo after you!)

Likewise. I’ve wondered how the residents in building that faces the playground like having that truck running nonstop all summer. Especially because some of those apartments have balconies where they can (theoretically) enjoy a quiet evening outside.

Does anyone know what is filming on Remsen St. today? the signs are up but no production name.

  • Hicksanthrope

Funny. I walked by his truck last week and had the same thought.

More troubling than the paper or plastic bag quandary, is the greeting manikin just inside the door of Key Food. Almost every time I in the store this damn thing startles me, as I mistakenly think I am about to crash into a live human being…
