Hot Day? Cool Off At Brooklyn Bridge Park’s Pop-Up Pool You Say? NOPE.

At tipster writes us this dispatch alerting BHB that the pop-up pool at Brooklyn Bridge Park is closed today for cleaning:

The pool us closed today for cleaning. Many apoplectic toddlers and suicidal parents on scene… Sweaty, angry parents.

DEVELOPING…

Something is up with that pool. i worked as a lifeguard for years and there is no reason you should have to close a pool for an entire day to clean it. Normal cleaning involves treating the pool with chemicals, which prevents swimming for a few hours, Most pools would do this overnight and the pool would be ready for swimmers the next morning. It seems that they have repeatedly closed this pool for extended periods to “Clean” it. In all the years I worked at pools I never remember one being closed for an entire day to clean it. I suspect there is something seriously wrong with the filtration system. Here’s hoping we have the +Pool to swim in soon!

What a shame that the Brooklyn Public Library could not move the Children’s Library down to its first floor on Cadman Plaza Where the AC is working. That way on a day like today children could have been in well running AC. I thought it was a good idea and shared it but apparently they could not be flexible. The library has no leadership

Can I talk about bike share? Seems it is the only way you get any activity in these parts.

  • MonroeOrange

Joe A…well you could say you rented a citibike to bike to the pool…but i would think you have already beat that horse enough…

PS…how is the garbage throwing business working out for you?

  • Joe A

Great. The slim balls running that building have not repeated their obnoxious behavior. I’m quite happy about that, aren’t you?

  • MonroeOrange

no…im not happy, i share a neighborhood with someone who threatens to throw garbage into buildings.

Marsha…just preference your paragraph with ‘I was waiting for the pool to open and thought about the library……
