Test Version–Not Open to Public–of East River Floating Pool to Arrive Next Month

Remember our post two years ago about a proposal to build a floating swimming pool that would use filtered East River water and be located off the DUMBO section of Brooklyn Bridge Park? If you’re like me, you thought,”Great idea, but good luck making it happen.” Now it seems the promoters of the idea, led by architect Dong Ping-Wong, have raised enough money through Kickstarter (the linked page gives details of how the filtration system works) to build and install a miniature test version of the pool. The promoters expect to have this test pool, which will not be open to or accessible by the public, in place by sometime next month.
