This evening (Friday, July 12) at 8:00 Bargemusic will present a “Here and Now” concert featuring works by several contemporary composers, performed by Wendy Sutter (photo) on cello and Olga Vinokur on piano. On Saturday evening at 8:00 there will be a “Masterworks” concert featuring works by Bach, Samuel Adler, Sir Arnold Bax, and Debussy, performed by Brandon Patrick George on flute, Dave Moss (who has a connection to Siegel-Schwall, one of my favorite electric blues bands from the late 1960s) on viola, and Meredith Clark on harp. Sunday afternoon’s “Masterworks” concert, starting at 2:00, presents works by Beethoven performed by New York Philharmonic cellist Sumire Kudo and Steven Beck on piano. On Saturday afternoon at 3:00 there will be a free, family oriented “Music in Motion” concert, program and musicians TBA. The doors open at 2:30; it’s first come, first seated.
