The NYPD shut down Cadman Plaza West between Montague and Tillary Streets early Wednesday on reports of a bomb threat in the area. Hot on the heels of Monday’s horrifying attack on the Boston Marathon, law enforcement and citizens across the country are taking any sign of suspicious activity very seriously. Luckily in this case the threat was non-existent. Unless you’ve switched to de-caf.
Brooklyn Eagle: A crowd watched bomb squad activity from the steps of nearby Brooklyn Borough Hall and helicopters were reported buzzing the area.
The suspicious object was discovered to be a thermos jug, an NYPD spokesperson told the Brooklyn Eagle. “It was coffee,” he said.
