Open Thread Wednesday For March 13, 2013

Put it all together and today is a mathematical anomaly, of sorts: March 13, 2013 = 03/13/13. Since there’s no 13/13/13, that’s about as clever as it’s going to get this year, right? (Okay, yes, there is 11/12/13.) Meanwhile, today’s the day for you to wax clever on all things in your Heights purview. Comment away! (CT/Columbia Heights)

    Glad to hear it, Asya!

I was walking over to Trader Joe’s this week and the amount of dog poop on my street, on the Promenade, and on State Street was quite amazing. From the size of the droppings, I would say that many of the culprits were quite large dogs. Looks like the bad old days of the 1970s.

I found Gerry. He’s posting in the Brooklyn Paper now –wreaking havoc, as usual. And, not serving our community at all.

  • Your neighbor

Oh, and he’s getting the same response there that he usually gets here.

  • monty

Oh, glad to hear it. You show up as closed.on seamless web the other day. Must have been a glitch because you’re back now.

  • Joe A

Hmmmm, interesting. I wonder why he decided to stop blogging here and moved on to the Brooklyn Paper. Maybe it was all the down arrows that he routinely received for his obnoxious self-congratulatory posts that convinced him that he was not as well received as he had imagined.

  • Heights Neighbor

Not at all surprising. Dog owners let their pets pee & poop across any walkway. What happened to curbing your dog? Let them defecate on the side of walkways, not in the middle where people tramp. I’ve never lived in such an “upscale” neighborhood with such “low class” and disrespectful people. It’s disgusting.

  • BrooklynSlights

Absolutely. Way too many tramps trampin’ their tramps on the tramp-walk.

I used http://www.4thbin.com for 2 laptops recently. I cost about $10-20 per laptop, they picked them up and sent me a certification that they had cleared the harddrive then recycled it.

way to generalize every ‘dog owner’ in the neighborhood…as a dog owner for decades in the heights, i have never not scooped my poop….it was probably a dog walker, with many dogs if it was that much…they are the ones you should be targeting with your accusations, not ‘dog owners’…ps….you should move out of this ‘upscale’ neighborhood if you find all us dog owners ‘low class’.

  • Heights_Neighbor

Never said it was the dog owners who were “low class,” although sounds like a case of guilty conscience? Low class is whomever is not picking up the crap. Same goes for those who litter the neighborhood in other ways.

  • Remsen Street Dweller

And they want to close our hospital !?

  • Remsen Street Dweller

What I said below — and they want to close our hospital!?

  • Wiley E.

Yup. Gerry is posting on the Brooklyn Paper site. Still pleading for a pool.

Gran Electrica is fantastic, by far the best Mexican in the area and a short walk into Dumbo … enjoy!

  • Hicks St Guy

d-bag? are you still in grammar school?

  • Hicks St Guy

saw your previous post, do you ever think about anything else but your dog?

  • MonroeOrange

My Dog told me to tell you, he pee’d on a tree on hick st…the horror!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • PierrepontSkin

Hey, I can be immature and be rude over the internet, too. Good thing I’m behind the protection of my computer screen.
