No Surprise: Luxury Sales Are Booming In Brooklyn Heights

Brooklyn Heights’ luxury residential sales market is booming. Surprised? Didn’t think so. A new PropertyShark report tracks residential sales in the borough above $1 million from 2007 to 2012. The top three nabes: Williamsburg, Park Slope and Brooklyn Heights. For the latter, there were 112 luxury sales in 2012, up 26% from 2011 and up a walloping 87% from 2007.

In addition, 2012 was a record sales year for luxury sales in Brooklyn; the lowest sales year since 2007 was 2009, in the midst of the recession. In total, the share of “luxury transactions” in Brooklyn accounts for 4.5% of residential sales. Brownstoner shares charts. (Photo: Love Lane Mews)
