Save the Date: BHA Annual Meeting Monday, February 11

The Brooklyn Heights Association will have its annual meeting on Monday, February 11 starting at 7:30 p.m., at the St. Francis College auditorium, 180 Remsen Street (between Clinton and Court). The featured speaker will be Congresswoman Nydia Velazquez. BHA President Jane McGroarty will report on the year’s activities. All are welcome. We will give you more details as they become available.

The BHA asks for assistance in surveying the need for new tree plantings in the Heights, especially after last year’s heavy storm damage. If you spot an empty sidewalk tree pit, with or without a stump, please report it, with the exact location (nearest building number and street) by e-mail to info@thebha.org

Trees regulate the temperatures in BH; it’s really important to replace the many trees we lost, not only in Sandy, but in Irene, and death-by-truck—such as happened several times on Montague near Henry.

@ Andrew Porter – many trees on our block have been damaged by large trucks.

Recenlty i had the all of the trees on my block pruned and sprayed for insects by Tree Doctor of Forest Hills they did a great job and gave me a reasonable price.

Does anyone remmeber the BHA Fesival of Foods?

The event was held annually at the First Unitarian Church.

This was a GREAT event a fund raiser held each year.

Or was it Heights and Hill that held the Festival of Foods?

Is this event still held each year?

If yes when and where do I get some tickets?
