On my walk Saturday morning, I found the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Spencer, based in Boston, docked at Port Authority Pier 7 and taking on fuel from the the Circle Line’s little harbor tanker Capt. Log.
Here’s a closer view of Capt. Log; there’s another view, from above, here.
Across from Spencer, docked at Brooklyn Bridge Park’s Pier 6, was the intriguingly named launch Knight Life.
I walked up to Pier 1, and there saw Miss New York go by with a full complement of tourists. With Liberty Island closed after Sandy, Statue Cruises has changed its route to show sights along the East River, such as the Brooklyn Bridge, South Street Seaport, and Brooklyn Bridge Park.
