What’s That Loud Noise Under the Promenade?

Longtime nabe resident “politegangsta” investigates the source of a really loud noise under the Brooklyn Heights Promenade in a YouTube video posted earlier this month. What is it? Find out after the jump.

    That sound is probably the ventilation building for the A train that is to the left of where you are pointing your camera. It makes a very loud sound similar to what i hear in your video.

    Is that the sort of whirring/humming sound I hear in the mornings when my window is open? Sometimes it is very faint, other time clearer.
    I assumed it was some AC unit near me (I live near Henry so I’m not that close to the source of the video). My wife said it must be wind turbines and then told me to get over it.
    Trolls was a weird movie, but I only saw the last hour.
