Montague Street resident Judith Jarosz, Artistic Director of Theater 1010, has produced and directs a new version of Shakespeare’s final play, the dark-edged comedy The Tempest. Her husband, David Fuller, plays the leading role of Prospero (perhaps you’ve seen him on the street with his magnificently tended beard and moustache–see the cast video above). Reviews of the play are here; one reviewer greatly preferred Fuller’s Prospero to that of Mandy Patinkin.
The play runs through November 16. Theater 1010 is located at 1010 Park Avenue, between 84th and 85th Streets, in Manhattan. Tickets, all of which are $20.00, may be purchased through Theatermania or by calling Theater 1010 at 212-288-3246 x300.
