The Montague Street Business Improvement District continues its Halloween celebrations with a sidewalk demonstration by renowned pumpkin carver Hugh McMahon. The event will be held today Tuesday, October 28th, at 5 p.m. at the Spicy Pickle restaurant at 143 Montague Street.
Brooklyn Heights resident McMahon – who’s appeared on such programs as The Today Show, Good Morning America, The Late Show with David Letterman, and Late Night with Conan O’Brian – will be demonstrating his carving skills for Montague Street shoppers and residents. In addition to spooky Halloween creations, he’ll display his remarkable pumpkin portraits of Senators Barack Obama and John
McCain. [See photos attached; credit should read “Courtesy of Hugh McMahon”] One of McMahon’s carved pumpkins will be raffled off to a Montague Street business for display. Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz and Montague Street BID President Timothy King will preside over the festivities. Spicy Pickle, one of Montague Street’s best new dining options, will host Tuesday’s pumpkin carving event. They’ll also be providing a free tasting menu of their delicious panini and pizza.
