6th Annual Howl-o-Ween Doggie Costume Parade/Contest, Sunday Oct. 26, 1-4pm

It’s near that time of year, when your dog-obsessed neighbors strut their stuff in the annual Doggie Costume Parade/Contest. Last year had close to 50 entrants and attracted amused neighbors, gawking tourists on the Promenade and outside of Hillside Park, and even some local news media to watch the costume judging.

The Howl-o-ween Parade will be held Sunday, October 26th from 1-4pm. Parade participants will gather on the Promenade’s Remsen Street entrance at 1pm and promenade towards the north end, cross Columbia Heights, to the costume judging table at Middagh Street.

You must pre-register for the parade at Perfect Paws, 102 Hicks St, corner of Pineapple St.

As in previous years this event is a fundraiser, organized by Perfect Paws and Friends of Hillside Dog Park.  The entry fee is $25.00 per pet (it’s free to watch) and 100% of all proceeds will be equally split among the following charities:

If you’ve participated before, you know how much fun it is. Even if you don’t have a dog, come check it out–you’re guaranteed a good time.

Businesses:  The Parade organizers are seeking corporate sponsors for the parade again this year.  All donations are tax deductible; each charity is a registered 501(c)(3) corporation. Donors will receive recognition of their generosity in a donor list distributed to all parade participants and available for all parade attendees.  For more information about donations, please send an email to info@hillsidedogs.org.
