Those fireworks tonight were from this year’s Deepavali (aka Diwali) Festival at the South Street Seaport.  We wrote about its origins last year.

    Does anyone know how to find out about a fireworks display in that area (seaport or brooklyn bridge) BEFORE it occurs? Besides the 4th, I haven’t really heard about any displays until I actually hear the fireworks going off.
