Eamonn’s Seamus O’Toole Dies

The Brooklyn Eagle reported earlier this week that restaurateur Seamus O’Toole died after falling down a flight of stairs on September 6.   The freak accident occurred at Eamonn’s 41 Murray Street location.  The beloved entrepreneur will be laid to rest today beginning with a mass at St. Bernadette’s Church at 10:45 a.m.

The Eagle reports that the Montague Street location is “expected” to stay in business.   Last month, when it was announced that 172-174 Montague Street and its air rights were sold to a developer O’Toole told the Eagle’s Dennis Holt, ““Well, we’ll see what happens next year; after all this is a valuable space.”

In lieu of flowers,  donations are being requested to St. Jude’s Children Hospital and/or the Community Mayors Association according to the paper.

The Brooklyn Paper reports on The Mayor of Montague.

Sounds suspiciously like an old-school Brooklyn tactic to remove a tenant.
