Anyone know why Brooklyn Bridge park is investing in broken security cameras which scare off visitors instead of fixing multiple broken lights in the park? I just got an automated lecture about my photo being taken and an automated accusation of trespassing as the park closes at 1:00 a.m. The odd thing is that this occurred at about 11:30 p.m. Same thing last week around 10:45 p.m. so it’s not a daylight savings issue.
Does anyone else think it odd to have a system like this in a public park? Do Central Park or Prospect Park have these camera + loudspeaker setups now?

epc yes those things are ridiculous… somewhere between Orwell and Idiocracy… Makes me seriously doubt the who’s at the helm over there…

I haven’t run into the park lectures yet, but I have had it with automated harrassment in the subway system. It’s a terrible trend.
