Spooky Silent Movies with Live Music Coming to Brooklyn Heights Cinema

On Sunday (10/30) at 5pm and on Halloween (10/31) at 7pm, the Brooklyn Heights Cinema [70 Henry Street] will be hosting 3 classic spooky silent films: Haunted Spooks starring Harold Lloyd, The Haunted House with Buster Keaton and Dr. Pickle and Mr. Pride starring Stan Laurel.

And there’s a twist – the Red Hook Ramblers will be performing the musical soundtrack live.

Tickets are $15. You can reserve your seat by emailing rsvp AT htscinema.com.

Update: We’ve got two pairs of tickets to give away for each night, courtesy of the Brooklyn Heights Cinema. Comment below (with a valid email address, in the “mail” field under your name) and say you’d like to be entered to win. Winners will be chosen at random.

Excellent! This is just the sort of thing the BH Cinema should do–show well chosen vintage/cult films.

So much for the complaint on the Open Thread that they are not community minded! I think that the new owner is really trying to improve the operation and be responsive to the neighborhood…
