Monty, do your friends at One Brooklyn Bridge Park know that the “Park” managers are planning to build 2 high-rise apt towers right next to them? I would be pretty upset.

  • WillowtownCop

@ Cathy- it was the Merz house. It was out there with the old german shepardish looking dog, moving very fast. I saw it was a tuxedo, but not much more than that.

  • Elmer Fudd

Joe Merz has a black and white cat, it is not Bee-Bop. It doesn’t have the Bee-Bop’s unique black eye pattern, but it is similar in many ways. Joe’s pet tuxedo cat is not Bee-Bop. Joe’s pet cat is older than Bee-Bop and is free to roam outside his house on Willow Place.

Thanks Elmer for clearing that up. We agree. I have also heard that there may be 1 or 2 other Tuxedos on that end of WP that are not BeeBop also. BeeBop is not a calm cat. Very skittish or at least he was a few months ago. BUT, BeeBop has an older Tuxedo brother of 13 who he loved a lot and followed. So he was bound to follow another Tuxedo around….
If you see a forelorn looking Tuxedo with a half mustache looking out of a window, it’s BeeBop.

    Remember $300 CASH!

    Cathy,
I have also seen the cat hanging out with the old German Shepard and it is not BeeBop. Apparently we are all seeing the same cat.

  • Cathy

Thanks WSN for remembering me! BeeBop has black legs and is mostly black, except for the facial markings and white belly/chin.

Following up on the OBBP conversation: I see the Vanessa and Steven ads are getting a lot of play on the Internets:

And they’re winning Curbed’s poll of the worst real estate TV spots:

It occurred to me that Vanessa does not have a nose or eyebrows, which could be due to some type of disability. For about .003 of a second, I felt guilty about wanting to kill her. After all, as a disability rights attorney, she would fall into my target of clients. Thankfully, my weakness has abated and I’m quite comfortable with getting rid of Vanessa.

Willowwillow, re: Housing Works… Steps are being taken….

  • nabeguy

TK, she actually has both. She’s just storing them in one of their ample closet spaces.

  • bklyn20

TK, perhaps Vanessa considers her lack of a nose an asset. She can honestly declare that her +-*# doesn’t stink. Conversely, if she decides to get a nose, she can always avail herself of the wastewater treatment plant hiding under the perched wetlands planned for the far end of Pier 6.

Lack of eyebrows may still be a liability, however.

Signs went this past week for the Danish Christmas Fair. Looks like they are doing Sat/Sun afternoons instead of Fri/Sat as in past years.

  • Elmer Fudd

I noticed blue “No Parking Sunday. Police Dept” signs on trees. parking meters, and street signs on 2 blocks of Remsen Street between Clinton and Hicks Streets just now.

Does anyone know the event or reason? Are they bogus signs?

    Thanks.

bklyn20: There was a 1965 Western/comedy/musical movie with Jane Fonda called Cat Ballou. The villain didn’t have a nose other than a metal replacement tied on with string; he was dressed completely in black and scared the heck out of me when I was a kid. Perhaps the back story is that this is a long lost relative of Vanessa.

go to approximately 02:12 to see Vanessa’s great-great-grandfather!

The blue signs are down on Remsen Street, and nothing seems to be happening out of the ordinary. Is it illegal to post signs saying “Police Dept” if they aren’t posted by the police department?
