  • AEB

Can anyone recommend a good dermatologist in the Heights or vicinity?

  • Heights

Dr. Marc Avram on Remsen St. is very good. As are his brother and sister at the same location.

  • lori

NOT the one on the corner of Pierrepont and Henry!

  • nabeguy

    AEB, going great, thanks.

Today I received the reminder to vote with info. on the assigned voting place. But, there is no indication of the positions for which I will be selecting candidates. And, of course, there are no names of potential candidates.

I understand that is is a general mailing and the information that I am seeking varies greatly throughout the city, but could there not be at least a clue as to where specific information could be found?

    Can anyone help?

  • Sylvester

With Lori on this one. The office on Pierrepont and Henry was just plain GROSS last year. It was filthy, probably never ever cleaned. Never went back.

  • AEB

    Good, nabe, good!

  • Cathy

Has anybody seen BeeBop? REWARD still being offered.

  • Willow St. Neighbor

I just recently had an appointment with Dr. Marc Avram.
He was referred to me by my own internist. He is excellent.

  • Sylvester

They are making another movie on Court Street and Remsen. The sign said “Phil Spector”. I hope this production company isn’t as inconsiderate to the neighborhood as the other recent movie companies have been.

  • Tclinton11201

that movie has Al Pacino in it…

  • Sylvester

I hope his daughter isn’t driving.

For the love of Pete… someone send a photo!

  • AL

Had bad experience w Dr Avram & cohorts. Would not recommend.

  • spm

Sorry AL, I only had a great experience with all of them at Dr. Avram’s office. I’d been to several dermatologists before for years but they came recommended and my own experience has been excellent. They don’t push anything on you and take the time to explain why and what they’re recommending/prescribing. You can have a wait though depending on the time of day your appointment is.

Anyone know why the tree was cut down in front of Iris? The bench looks so sad now with no tree sticking up through the middle of it.

  • Sylvester

@kcg. I noticed that also, and agree. Maybe a BBP beaver did it.

Ps8 is shaping up. They’re taking down the trailers and it looks like the addition may be up and running.

Jane Martinez question. The badly designed, barely comprehensible mailing from the NYC Board of Elections is a “mail check.” If it is returned by the post office, the Board of Elections removes the person from the voter rolls. Believe the mailing is required by law but not sure. There are almost no elections in NYC this year. The only election in Brooklyn that Heights voters can vote in is for two borough-wide Civil Court Judges. There is a Democratic Primary on September 13 to select the Democratic Party candidate for one of the positions. The General Election is on November 8.

Anyone know why there is an att service problem in Brooklyn?

  • harumph

@AmyinBH isn’t there always an ATT service problem in the Heights?

  • http://www.teen-aged411.blogspot.com Nancy

No phone service for ATT in NY. All my other services are working

  • harumph

my iphone (ATT) is working – not sure what everyone is talking about

  • Sylvester

    At+t always $ucks.

  • sunshinebk

Verizon has the best service in NYC…. and most places.

@Amyin BH et al Was on the phone AT & T tech support the other day who confirmed 9 non working towers in the area since July 16th. Asked them about getting a microcell ( http://www.att.com/shop/wireless/devices/3gmicrocell.jsp?fbid=TbK9Yi0usUm ) to possibly solve the problem. I was told it was only available in the retail stores and would cost $150. Went to the retail store and calmly discussed why I shouldn’t have to pay another $150 to get service in my apartment in the middle of Brooklyn Heights. After a little back and forth I walked out of the store with a free microcell. Hooked it up when I got home and after about 40 minutes had 5 bars in my apartment for the first time.

    I hope this helps.
