    @Teddy

According to their fb page, no fireworks tonight…

    Good, nabeguy … I win!

  • AEB

..and as we all know, winning is always extra-important, in the sense of utterly discrediting others with whom we don’t agree, no matter how little’s at stake.

In other words, the gauntlet when thrown down must always be picked up and the other bested. Perhaps we can reinstate duels.

bob stone- im curious to know how old he is?

  • Eddyenergizer

Sunshinebk, If you are so curious about this guy why don’t you just ask him yourself? A brief conversation would give you a sense of where he’s coming from and might just allay your fears.

  • Andrew Porter

Sad Neighbor, Google “Janis Ian Torcon” for stuff about her attendance and activities at the 2003 World Science Fiction Convention in Toronto, Canada. She has since had several more connections with the SF community, through anthologies and other activities.

    It’s a small universe!

  • Sad Neighbor

    Thanks Andrew..I will.
I am sure she will be pleased with NY legalizing Gay marriages. Now her song “Married in London” can be a theme song that inspired the change. No longer does she have to sing” We got married in London and not in NY…Spain says were kosher…the states say were pork”

  • sunshinebk

eddy- good idea..i’ll walk right up to the guy that followed me 3 blocks.

  • Remsen

What happened to the fireworks that I think were scheduled for this past Sat?

  • Andrew Porter

Actually, Janis Ian got married in Toronto during the convention, with a bunch of SF writers as witnesses, including Mike Resnick.

Fireworks were cancelled. Must be true: I read it here, somewhere.

  • Knight

AEB … if you knew my history with Arch you would know that such is not the case. I have rarely posted a comment that wasn’t attacked by him, with myself being belittled in his process. I have yet to figure out what motivates his bitterness, but I often get tired of bearing the brunt of his scathing remarks.

  • Sad Neighbor

Yes…She had said she got married in Toronto at the SF convention when she performed at the Unitarian church…but the song is titled “Married in London”. My X was a SF lover and attended the I-Con SF convention in Stonybrook U….you might have met him too in Toronto… I see you are a SF writer..great!

Are they having fireworks for the 4th of July this year?

  • Eddyenergizer

sunshinebk, Yes, the best way to overcome your fears is to face them head on. Have a gentleman friend or tough female friend, escort you and just ask him why he was following you and let him know he upset you. You might find it quite cathartic.

  • Arch Stanton

Knight, AEB and I have a history too, he just has a better sense of humor than you.
