Great news for Brooklyn Heights residents Paul Giamatti and Gabriel Byrne today – both have been nominated for Emmy Awards. Nominations were announced this morning in Los Angeles.
Byrne’s nod comes in the Lead Actor in a Drama series for his work on HBO’s In Treatment. Also nominated in the category: Bryan Cranston Breaking Bad, Michael C. Hall Dexter, Jon Hamm Mad Men, Hugh Laurie House and James Spaker Boston Legal.
Paul Giamatti’s HBO serial John Adams earned a nomination for Best Mini Series and Giamatti was tapped as a nominee for Best Actor in a Mini Series. His competition in the category is formidable: Ralph Finnes Bernard and Doris, Ricky Gervais Extras Series Finale, Kevin Spacey Recount and Kevin Wilkinson Recount.
The award ceremony will be held on September 21 and broadcast on ABC.
