Jarbro: thanks for the panoramic photo. I’d like to top post it on BHB, with full credit, of course, if that’s OK with you.
My sunset shot was hurriedly done, and shows it. I had some trepidation about posting it, and justified it to myself with the argument later made by DoM, i.e. that it had an “impressionistic” quality. I shot it in with my BlackBerry because that’s all I had with me at the time, and did it quickly to catch the woman with her leg propped against the fence, which I thought added a bit of quirkiness to it. I’ll try to do better in future.

The terrible truth, Claude, is that you seen one sunset picture, you’ve seen etc.
Which is not to cast etc.

But haven’t we all…? That is to say, people in glass etc. shouldn’t etc. etc.

I am not looking for credit, but if you want, go for it. However I am just saying, that perhaps if you are going to showcase photos on the site, perhaps we should have a monthly best of the heights series. Have readers send in their best pics from around the heights and at the end of the month have best of series. I am sure there are a ton of folks living in the area that take some pretty great photos.

Just throwing in my 2 cents as a photographer who lives in the neighborhood– I am endlessly inspired by how much beauty there is and love to go for walks with my camera. The Autumn sunsets are particularly gorgeous. Almost all of the photos on my site in the album titled “Savor” were taken in Brooklyn Heights or DUMBO. And, in the album titled “New,” I have a few sunset pics taken from the Promenade.
I like Jarbro’s idea about a “best of” photo series. I check out the BHB Photo Club flickr stream pretty regularly, but would love to see how more people are viewing/capturing our surroundings.
