Young Composer Brings Music to Brooklyn Heights Church

On Friday September 10th, Kyle Bobby Dunn will fill the First Presbyterian Church of Brooklyn at 124 Henry Street with the sounds of his self-composed music. Church doors open at 7 pm with an opening performance by the Brooklyn Heights-based electric guitar quartet, Dither. Kyle will perform  a series of his own compositions. Admission is $10.

“The style is very quiet, romantic at times, sort of sad but sort of warm. I find it textural, pared down, slow, with a neoclassical element,” he said. This performance will be Kyle’s first live show with horn and string players, and chose Brooklyn Heights for his love of the neighborhood and the style of the 1840’s church.

Kyle  Bobby Dunn is a 24 year old composer based in Brooklyn, but originally from Canada. He has recently released the highly acclaimed A Young Person’s Guide to Kyle Bobby Dunn (2 CD’s of long-form compositions that stretch back to 2005) on the UK based drone label, Low Point.
