This Thursday, December 6, the Brooklyn Women's Exchange (55 Pierrepont Street, between Hicks and Henry) continues its series of "Holiday Thursdays" featuring afternoon book and crafts events. This week, acclaimed children's book author and illustrator, and neighborhood resident, Melanie Hope Greenberg will read from and sign her books from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. From 3:00 to 5:00, stationery designer and maker Minhee Cho will show her handmade cards, journals and invitations.
On the following Thursday, December 13, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Noel MacFetrich will make holiday ornaments with shoppers' children, and from 3:30 to 5:00, Mari Takabayashi, author and illustrator of the children's books I Live in Brooklyn and I Live in Tokyo, will read from and sign her books.
Holiday Thursdays will literally wrap up on Thursday, December 20, when volunteer staff will help you put together special gift baskets, choose hostess and teacher presents, and, of course, wrap them.
