Frequent BHB contributor and ace photojournalist Marc Hermann, aka “Weegee”, has been awarded second place in the spot news category of the annual “Year in Pictures” contest held by the New York Press Photographers Association. Marc won the award for a photo, “The Devil Comes Out to Play”, taken during a fire at 132 Montague Street on February 1, 2009. The photo above is another shot Marc took of the same fire; the award winning photo can be found on the NYPPA website, or on Marc’s site.
