The blizzard has begun! Gather provisions! Hunker down!!

Also kudos to the folks at 73 Orange Street for keeping their sidewalk clear!

Question about shoveling etiquette: when one shovels one’s car out, where does one put the shoveled snow? Clearly not on the sidewalk, but throwing it into the street doesn’t seem particularly safe or courteous, either.

    Advice?

Street. The DOS expects it, which is why they plow for a couple of days after the storm.

    Thanks, nabeguy.

North/Nabe — I seem to recall having read (during an earlier BHB discussion of unshoveled, postsnow sidewalks) that owners must clear sidewalks within x-number of hours and that snow may NOT be shoveled into the street. One might wonder where, exactly, DOS would recommend the snow be put…….

But bornhere, nhr is talking about digging out a car, which is (or at least, should be) already in the street.
