Actor/Brooklyn Heights resident Paul Giamatti will most likely not get his wish of appearing in Bubba Nosferatu: Curse of the She Vampires the long anticipated sequel to Don Coscarelli's 2002's Bubba Ho-Tep. The reason: Bruce Campbell, the actor who plays "Elvis" tells Fangoria Radio, "“[BUBBA NOSFERATU] is dead to me. It sleeps with the fishes. Don Coscarelli is a very passionate filmmaker. We got to a few points [developing the screenplay] that we couldn’t reconcile. I want to keep our friendship, so we parted ways. So I’m not part of that project.”
Coscarelli says he may recast the role and move forward with production.
Campbell has his hands full — he's been busy with episodes of Burn Notice and Old Spice commercials. He's known by Sci-Fi fans as the creator of the Evil Dead series of films. He's rumored to be working on two films as an actor in Vacation and producer of a new Evil Dead flick.
As for Giamatti, The Nanny Diaries is in theaters now and opening next Friday he co-stars in Shoot 'Em Up with Clive Owen and Monica Bellucci.
